One of the longest rivalries in baseball history is that of the competition between the Dodgers and the Giants. It began when both clubs played in New York City when the Dodgers were in Brooklyn and the Giants were in Manhattan. When both teams were moved to California in 1958, the rivalry remained and was simply transplanted along with the move.
